To mark the start of Foster Care Fortnight, we’re excited to share the first video in our new mini-series, “The Power of Relationships”, shining a light on the connections that make foster care thrive.
In this opening video, we hear from Madeleine, a Supervising Social Worker at Banya — and a foster carer herself. With warmth and honesty, Madeleine reflects on what first inspired her to become a social worker, the deep importance of building meaningful relationships in fostering, and the simple but powerful ways connection can change lives.
From spending unhurried time in supervisions, to joining the recent Banya cookery event in Eastbourne, Madeleine reminds us that real impact happens when we show up for each other — consistently, patiently, and with care.
“Time, commitment, and connection — those are the three keys to building strong relationships in foster care.” – Madeleine
A big thank you to Madeleine for sharing her experience and insight with us. Watch the full video to hear more of her story and stay tuned for more inspiring voices over the next two weeks.
