This Pride Month, we’re proud to partner with the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre to host a powerful and informative event: Intro to LGBTQ+ Fostering.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering — whether to start your family, give back, or make a difference in a young person’s life — this session is for you. Specifically created for LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, this two-hour workshop offers practical guidance, community connection, and the opportunity to explore the first steps in your fostering journey.
Why Attend?
Hosted by Chido Poe— social worker, workshop facilitator, and Managing Director of Banya — this session will dive into:
- Real stories from LGBTQ+ foster carers
- The fostering process and how to get started
- Support systems available for LGBTQ+ carers
- How we can collectively support LGBTQ+ youth in care
- An open Q&A to address your thoughts, questions, or concerns
With over 14 years in social care and a master’s degree focused on social justice, Chido brings both expertise and passion to every conversation. She is committed to making fostering accessible and inclusive for all — because every child deserves a stable, loving home, and every carer deserves to feel supported and empowered.
